What I Can Help With

I work with clients on a wide range of issues:

  • You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, relationship or work issues.
  • You may be seeking support in moving forward from one or more traumatic or painful past experiences.
  • Your world may have been turned upside down by the loss of someone you loved, or of something important, such as a relationship, a job or your health.
  • You may be worrying that you can no longer cope with feelings of sadness, anger, shame, self-blame, guilt or fear.
  • Many kinds of emotional pain may lead to thoughts of suicide. You may not truly wish to die, but you may not know where to turn.
  • Your self-compassion and your self-confidence may be undermined by self-critical thoughts.
  • You may wish to feel less overwhelmed by the demands placed on you by others, or that you place upon yourself.
  • Maybe you’ve reached a crossroads and you’re worrying that your life choices are no longer right for you, asking ‘what now?' Maybe you’d like help in finding a new direction.
  • Perhaps you aren't sure what the problem is - you just have a feeling that things aren’t right. You needn’t have identified a specific issue. People come to counselling because they are ready for change and wish to explore possibilities. Or perhaps you want to understand how to begin to accept things that can't change.
  • Maybe you’re seeking a stimulating opportunity for personal growth - a space in which to reflect on the challenges of living or to explore new perspectives on your relationship with yourself and/or with others.
  • No problem is ‘too small' to talk about - if it's a problem to you, it's a problem and we can look at it together to find a way forward.
I will support you in expressing your feelings and thoughts, whatever they may be, for they are all valid. I will strive to think and feel with you in order to understand your concerns from your perspective, so that you may feel understood and come to understand your own thoughts and feelings better, without being overwhelmed by them. Together we can look closely at what really matters to you so that you can find your way through.
